March 2026 Update
Dear family and friends,
May the Lord bless you, your loved ones, and your ministry. We are truly grateful to have you in our lives. To introduce this update, I would like to share these exhortations from James without further comment:
"...Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory..." James 1:27 & 2:1.
MINISTRIES
Operation Home
In the life of Youth With A Mission Saint Lucia, we sense in this season the Lord inviting us into a significant step of faith—trusting Him for a permanent ministry base. After 14 years of faithfully renting spaces to host volunteers, train students, and serve communities, we have realized how much a dedicated property would strengthen and expand the work God is already doing among us. More than a practical need, this has become a call to deeper dependence on Him. We are encouraged by initial signs of provision and unity around this vision, and we are intentionally seeking God’s direction for the way forward. We warmly invite you to stand with us in prayer at this time—that the Lord would guide every decision, open the right doors, and provide what is needed in His perfect timing as we pursue a place that will serve His mission in Saint Lucia for years to come.
Volunteers
Alongside our dedicated part-time volunteers, we had the pleasure of welcoming Tim and Barb Caldow in February. This seasoned missionary couple from Canada enriched our community with their service, bringing not only their wealth of experience but also an unexpectedly vibrant passion. They greatly encouraged us as they ran the kids' club, ministered in various schools and juvenile centers, led Prayer Stations, facilitated Bible Studies, visited local churches, and engaged in uplifting conversations over meals, praying with us along the way. We deeply value their insights and perceive their visit not merely as another mission builders' engagement, but as a divine sign to bolster our faith.
Juvenile At Risk
We are excited to be part of the facilitation team for the upcoming online seminar on children at risk, running from April 13th through November 2026, hosted by YWAM UofN. We look forward to seeing many of our part-time volunteers take part in this virtual training opportunity.
This week, we were fortunate to host the Soufriere Evangelical Church led by Rev. Claude Didier, who encouraged the entire congregation to join our Sunday outreach service at the base. Our teams also had the opportunity to visit both the Juveniles Centre and the Transit Home, providing us all with great encouragement.
Kid's Club & Prayer Station
Our kids club activities have been flourishing every Saturday from 2:00 to 4:30 pm, fostering a joyful and uplifting atmosphere for our youthful participants. We express our heartfelt gratitude to God for the generous support from Tim and Barb in Canada, who dedicated six weeks of their time and energy to help us in this wonderful mission. The children thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of games and activities, actively participating and building new friendships throughout. With God's guidance and blessings, we plan to introduce more targeted sessions tailored to specific age groups in the near future, enabling us to better cater to the unique needs and interests of each child. This month in Laborie, we participated in a community outreach with our prayer station at the invitation of a local church, and everything went wonderfully, as you can see in the photos.
Youth and School Ministry
Conducting religious knowledge (RK) sessions in three public schools three days a week certainly keeps us busy, but this commitment is far more than just a schedule. It places us directly at the heart of our youth's needs, granting us the invaluable opportunity to understand their challenges, listen closely to their concerns, and hear the cries that rise from their hearts. Every session we hold reveals new insights and deeper connections, and we can affirm, without a doubt, that the words from scripture resonate strongly in our experience: "...The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37-38.
Up Coming Prayer Luncheon
A planning committee is actively organizing our annual fundraising Prayer Luncheon for 2026, set to unite Christian believers from various denominations across the Island. Guests will enjoy a delicious banquet while taking in the breathtaking views of the Pitons rising over the Caribbean Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Between two worship songs, we will have the chance to fellowship and discuss strategies for reaching the Island and engaging our youth with the message of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through this program, we can witness YWAM St. Lucia gradually taking on an expanding role in fostering partnerships among believers and strengthening the body of Christ in Saint Lucia.
We are deeply grateful to all our donors and sponsors, as this event would not be possible without them, particularly the Beacon restaurant for generously providing the venue and meals.
