September 2025 Update
"Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead " 2 Corinthians 1:9
Dear family and friends,
As we wrapped up our study of the book of Genesis, the Lord highlighted several key aspects of Joseph's life, showcasing how the dream He bestowed upon him was realized despite the rejections, betrayals, trials, temptations, and moments of abandonment he faced. God remains steadfast in His promises. What our God expects from us is that we do not allow any of these challenges to lead us to compromise our walk with Him, but rather to forgive and avoid dwelling in bitterness. For no matter how long it may take, His dreams will ultimately come to fruition. We pray that God will grant you, as He does for us, the grace to stay close to Him, much like Joseph, who foreshadowed the Christ in Genesis chapters 39 to 50.
The Family
Amid occasional health challenges, particularly with Marylin, we are grateful for God's faithfulness in sustaining us giving us hope and encouraging perseveranceE. each day, we are reminded of His presence, which gives us hope and encourages us to persevere, even when the road gets tough.
Asaph has commenced high school and is excelling in Maths although he finds Social Sciences to be more enjoyable and engaging most of the time. Join us in prayer that he will not only realize the potential God has instilled in him but also discover his calling in this intricate world. The school year began slightly later this time to ensure he could enjoy a full summer break, as the previous academic year wrapped up in late July.
Summer Programs 2025 Adjourned
We weren’t able to carry out our Mission adventure this summer due to a late start in promotion, which resulted in having just five candidates short of the required number to rent a place and to make the trip to Guadeloupe financially viable.
Typically, our summer adventure consists of a two-week camp-like program that we organize annually to engage youth in mission and discipleship.
Instead, this year, we participated in several local church camps held across the island, where we were invited to speak on evangelism at the PAWI Youth Fest Camp and share on the gifts of the Holy Spirit at the VBS Camp hosted by the Wesleyan Holiness Church.
MINISTRIES
Inductive Bible Study & Prayer Station
Inductive Bible Study virtually engage 15 or more persons each week around 2 to 3 chapters of the selected Book of the Bible to study and draw out personal applications for our lives. This is presently held two days of the week either Mondays or Fridays. On the Other hand through our Prayer Station on Friday afternoons we remind the public in Castries Square these words of Jesus from Matt 11 :28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ....” at times in collaboration with other ministries...
YOUTH
Juvenile Centre
Seeds continue to be sown weekly at the Juvenile Centre, contributing to create an environment of growth and hope for the young boys we serve there. One of our dedicated volunteers, Ps Heath, has recently returned to the US with his family after completing his missionary service in Saint Lucia. His contributions will be missed, but we are filled with gratitude for the time he spent with us. As we move forward, we are trusting God to send us more volunteers who share our vision and passion, allowing us to expand our efforts alongside our Lord. Additionally, we are exploring the possibility of incorporating more of the engaging Go Play games approach into our activities with the boys, which we believe will foster a greater interaction .
Kid's Club
"where are we going today.... " that is the regular question Ticuan, one the boy I picked from the transit home consistently ask me with his eyes giggling while jumping in the minibus. Every Saturday afternoon , children from various neighborhoods, as well as those from the Children Transit Home in Gros Islet, are warmly invited to the YWAM Kids Club! They take part in a range of engaging activities, particularly relishing the playtime on the trampoline, where they learn and grow through play, whether at the YWAM base or during occasional outings to a public park that they greatly enjoy. Each week, approximately 25 children and youth from both the community and the transit home participate. The children have the opportunity to hear the word of God.
School Ministry: Alpha Youth Series
This week, we will be resuming our ministry at one of the Secondary Schools, where every Wednesday morning, we engage with a group of students for their Religious Knowledge (RK) class, in partnership with the Inter School Christian Fellowship (ISCF). Similar to last year, we plan to utilize the Alpha Youth series to connect with them, and we are praying for God to work in their lives and empower them to reach their peers. The program encourages them to explore the biblical answers to significant life questions they are encountering.
Operation Home
"Operation Home" is a faith venture launched with the board of YWAM Saint Lucia, aimed at helping YWAM SL secure a property, which currently poses a significant challenge that restricts our ministry's reach. We invite friends of YWAM Saint Lucia to join us in prayer for a breakthrough in finding a space where we can develop a playground and a facility to accommodate volunteers and youth in transition for discipleship, as well as potentially run YWAM schools.
As the chairman expressed, "...The time has come for YWAM St Lucia to possess its own space so that the operations of the Kingdom can be manifested with fewer limitations…!" Join us as a seed of faith is now firmly planted 🙏🏾.
